Stella Ignition is a photographic project concerning our energy future. Flowing back and forward in time, the works are never about one thing. The result is a body of work that embraces complexity on many levels.
At its core, Stella Ignition explores humanity’s enduring relationship with the sun — from ancient worship to modern technological ambitions. The works connect our early myths and wonder of the heavens to today’s pursuit of energy and sustainability; from simply capturing the suns energy in the form of solar, to recreating its very process here on earth through nuclear fusion - revealing a modern worship in new forms.
The project highlights human knowledge and its resulting technologies: what we do with them, how far we go, and what limits we place upon them. It is here that questions of progress and responsibility emerge.
*APs serve as the artist's personal collection or a unique offering for special circumstances, as they are reserved from the numbered edition.
**Please note: This price includes framing.
*** Dimensions are of the image size, final size including frame will increase slightly.
